We would like to invite all our customers to a preview of our Summer Exhibition of Work by Chris Ainslie on Thursday 28th. June at 6.00.p.m.

Please join us for a glass of wine and canapés, and be the first to see the new designs Chris is preparing for the Autumn. Chris will be exhibiting Stained Glass, Fused and enamelled glass, and examples of his engraving, including the NEW ‘Nursery Rhyme’ series he is working on at the moment here at the Bristol Glass Centre in Bedminster.

Prior to his formal art training, Chris spent two and a half years in the studio of the late French tapestry designer, Dom Robert. This was to prove a strong influence with its decorative emphasis of pattern, texture, and linear design. Three years at Wimbledon College of Art followed in the early 1960s, specialising in stained glass, wood engraving, graphic design and lettering. Three years in a stained glass studio was followed by seven years of teaching art in the private sector. Later by chance he discovered the delights of glass engraving.

He became a craft member of the Guild of Glass Engravers in 1978, and was elected an Associate Fellow ten years later. In 1997 he was made a Fellow, and is also a member of the Contemporary Glass Society.

The Exhibition will continue during our normal opening hours until the end of July.
